PDO Thread-Lifts: A Non-Surgical Solution to Combat Aging

As we age, the effects of gravity become more apparent on our faces. This results in a longer, square-shaped, and older-looking face. However, PDO thread-lifts provide an effective and non-surgical solution for this problem. These lifts can contour and lift sagging tissues on the face, neck, and body, without any downtime.

Thread-lifting involves the placement of threads under the skin to stimulate collagen production, which lifts and tightens sagging skin. This procedure offers instant and long-lasting results, especially for those who do not wish to undergo surgery. We are thrilled to offer this FDA-approved treatment to our customers, as it adds to our arsenal of tools to help you maintain a youthful and refreshed appearance.

If you are looking for a tighter, fresher, and more youthful look, PDO thread-lifts may be the

perfect solution for you!

There are no cuts and no incisions. In less than one hour, Dr. Mantor can turn back time and transform your look. Using a very fine acupuncture-like needle, special dissolvable threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) are injected into the skin.

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, whilst a foreign body reaction improves the blood flow to the area stimulating neocollagenesis  (the production of new collagen in the skin). It also stimulates elastin and hyaluronic acid, both substances are key to maintaining firm, youthful looking skin.

A PDO Thread will instantly lift through mechanical effects, as well as, creating cellular renewal through collagen stimulation, which improves skin texture, erasing fine lines and adding elasticity. These sutures take about 4-6 months to dissolve and improvement continues to occur for over a year!

Are PDO Threads Safe?

PDO threads have over a decade long safety track record in surgery and wound closure.

Clients often ask where can PDO Threads be used?

Threads can be used just about anywhere on the body, but they're most commonly used in the face and neck. PDO Threads are a great option to restore a youthful appearance in the lower area of the face and upper neck area around the jawline. This versatile treatment can also help sagging brows, dropping cheeks, nasolabial lines, vertical and horizontal forehead wrinkles, those pesky "marionette lines" around the mouth, as well as,   wrinkles and folds on the chin and neck. The PDO thread , non-surgical facelift is a totally, customizable treatment and can be done on just about any area of the face. The most common treatment areas are: under the eyes, eyebrows, crow’s feet, cheeks, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around mouth, jawline, jowls and neck!

Who is an ideal candidate for a PDO thread lift?

  • Patients that are showing minimal signs of aging and are looking for a small to medium lift.

  • Clients who are starting to see some droopiness of the jowls, brow or cheeks and would like to see a lift effect, but do not want a surgical procedure that might leave scars, or the downtime of surgery.

  • Patients who have had some relapse from a previous surgery procedure such as a facelift or neck lift and do not wish to undergo another surgical facelift or neck-lift.

    • WHAT IS PDO THREAD LIFT?

A PDO thread lift is a revolutionary new treatment in the world of aesthetics, but PDO threads themselves have been used safely for decades for various applications, like suturing incisions after medical procedures. When used as an aesthetic treatment, there are a few things you should know.

First, it mechanically results in instant skin lifting. Second, it contracts fat tissue to result in instant skin tightening. Third, it promotes collagen production to renew your skin at the cellular level. All of this works together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles and more resilient skin.

    • How Long Does a PDO Thread Lift Typically Last?

It almost sounds too good to be true, but an easy, minimally invasive treatment now makes it possible to lift and tighten skin, achieving results similar to a surgical facelift. A PDO Thread Lift leaves the face firmer, tighter, and more youthful in appearance, and it offers results that can last 18 months or more.

    • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

One of the best things about this treatment is it typically takes only 15 to 30 minutes. After that, you’re free to go back to work or whatever else you had scheduled for the rest of your day.

    • WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING TREATMENT?

Once the anesthetic has taken effect, your treatment will begin. The PDO threads are inserted via blunt tip needles, called cannulas, or sharp-tipped needles. Once inserted into the appropriate layer of skin, they act as anchors as the skin is lifted upwards. Then, the excess threads are cut off.

    • ARE ALL PDO THREADS THE SAME?

There are several types of PDO threads and they all serve their own unique purpose. Depending on your desired goals, we may use one or many thread types during your PDO treatment.

    • WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE TREATMENT?

Since PDO thread lifts are non-invasive, there isn’t a lot you need to do to prepare. However, there are some precautionary measures you can take to ensure the best results from your treatment. You may want to avoid the following one to two days before your treatment:

      ·       Alcohol

      ·       Ginko

      ·       Omega fish oil supplements

      ·       Chinese medicine

      ·       Vitamin E

      ·       High-intensity workouts

      ·       Steam rooms and saunas

    • WHAT DO I NEED TO DO AFTER TREATMENT?

There are not a lot of special after-care requirements to this treatment. However, you should hold off on any dental treatments for the first two weeks after your PDO thread lift. Holding your mouth open for an excessive period of time can affect the results of your treatment. Moreover, you’ll want to sleep on your back for the first couple of weeks. This ensures you don’t put too much pressure on one side of your face.

    • HOW IS THE TREATMENT DESIGNED?

A PDO thread lift is customized to your unique skin type, skin texture and aesthetic goals. Depending on the area you want treated, you may receive several carefully placed barbed threads. Different threads are used for varying degrees of lift, skin tightening and cellular rejuvenation.

    • WHAT AREAS CAN A PDO THREAD LIFT TREAT?

Because a PDO thread lift is so versatile, it can treat virtually any area of the face. These include the:

      ·       Neck

      ·       Jowls

      ·       Jaw line

      ·       Nasolabial folds

      ·       Crow’s feet

      ·       Undereye area

      ·       Eyebrows

      ·       Cheeks

      ·       Marionette lines

      ·       Thighs
