PDO Thread-Lifts: A Non-Surgical Solution to
Combat Aging at
Dr. Mantor's Wrinkle and Weight Solutions, LLC
Experience the magic of firmer, lifted skin without the need for surgery! Allow us to introduce you to PDO threading.
Polydioxanone (PDO), a resilient and flexible thread that naturally dissolves within the body, is the secret behind this innovative treatment. When these PDO threads are delicately inserted beneath the skin, they work to tighten and subtly lift, essentially giving your skin a revitalizing boost. This process stimulates collagen production, the key protein that maintains your skin’s youthful firmness.
While individual results may vary, many notice an immediate improvement, with continued benefits as collagen levels increase over time. Though generally safe, PDO threading may cause minor side effects such as bruising and swelling.
The process of thread-lifting entails the insertion of threads beneath the skin to stimulate collagen production, thereby lifting and firming loose skin. This treatment delivers immediate and enduring results, making it an ideal option for individuals seeking alternatives to surgical procedures. We are excited to offer this FDA-approved treatment to our patients, enhancing our range of solutions designed to help you achieve a youthful and revitalized look.
For those desiring a firmer, fresher, and more youthful appearance, a PDO thread lift could be the perfect answer!
There are no cuts and no incisions. In less than one hour,
Dr. Mantor can turn back time
and transform your look. Using a very fine acupuncture-like needle, special dissolvable threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) are injected into the skin.
Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, whilst a foreign body reaction improves the blood flow to the area stimulating neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen in the skin). It also stimulates elastin and hyaluronic acid, both substances are key to maintaining firm, youthful looking skin.
A PDO Thread Lift will instantly lift through mechanical effects, as well as, creating cellular renewal through collagen stimulation, which improves skin texture, erasing fine lines and adding elasticity. These sutures take about 4-6 months to dissolve and improvement continues to occur for over a year!

A PDO thread lift is a revolutionary new treatment in the world of aesthetics, but PDO threads themselves have been used safely for decades for various applications, like suturing incisions after medical procedures. When used as an aesthetic treatment, there are a few things you should know.
First, it mechanically results in instant skin lifting. Second, it contracts fat tissue to result in instant skin tightening. Third, it promotes collagen production to renew your skin at the cellular level. All of this works together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles and more resilient skin.
It almost sounds too good to be true, but an easy, minimally invasive treatment now makes it possible to lift and tighten skin, achieving results similar to a surgical facelift. A PDO Thread Lift leaves the face firmer, tighter, and more youthful in appearance, and it offers results that can last 18 months or more.
One of the best things about this treatment is it typically takes only 15 to 30 minutes. After that, you’re free to go back to work or whatever else you had scheduled for the rest of your day.
Once the anesthetic has taken effect, your treatment will begin. The PDO threads are inserted via blunt tip needles, called cannulas, or sharp-tipped needles. Once inserted into the appropriate layer of skin, they act as anchors as the skin is lifted upwards. Then, the excess threads are cut off.
There are several types of PDO threads and they all serve their own unique purpose. Depending on your desired goals, we may use one or many thread types during your PDO treatment.
Since PDO thread lifts are non-invasive, there isn’t a lot you need to do to prepare. However, there are some precautionary measures you can take to ensure the best results from your treatment. You may want to avoid the following one to two days before your treatment:
· Alcohol
· Ginko
· Omega fish oil supplements
· Chinese medicine
· Vitamin E
· High-intensity workouts
· Steam rooms and saunas
There are not a lot of special after-care requirements to this treatment. However, you should hold off on any dental treatments for the first two weeks after your PDO thread lift. Holding your mouth open for an excessive period of time can affect the results of your treatment. Moreover, you’ll want to sleep on your back for the first couple of weeks. This ensures you don’t put too much pressure on one side of your face.
A PDO thread lift is customized to your unique skin type, skin texture and aesthetic goals. Depending on the area you want treated, you may receive several carefully placed barbed threads. Different threads are used for varying degrees of lift, skin tightening and cellular rejuvenation.
Because a PDO thread lift is so versatile, it can treat virtually any area of the face. These include the:
· Neck
· Jowls
· Jaw line
· Nasolabial folds
· Crow’s feet
· Undereye area
· Eyebrows
· Cheeks
· Marionette lines
· Thighs
· Knees
· Abdomen
