What is Kybella?

Kybella is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called a "double chin." According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery 2015 survey, 67% of people said they are bothered by submental fullness. Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness.

What to Expect!

How does it work?

It uses deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance that the body uses to breakdown and absorb dietary fat. Once injected, it causes fat cell destruction, so fat cells can no longer store and accumulate fat.
How is it done?

It typically takes 2-3 sessions, sometimes more. Each session is 15-20 minutes in the office that consist of a series of small injections in the area being treated under the chin.
Most common side effects?

Include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and hardness in the area being treated.
